Belfast-based alt-metal band Arc Dakota will release their new single “Not My Time to Die” on 26 February, marking a decisive step toward a heavier, more aggressive sound. Recorded at Manor Park Studio, Northern Ireland, the track captures the band at their most intense and emotionally direct to date.
Blending atmosphere with crushing dynamics, Arc Dakota have steadily evolved from alternative rock roots into darker, heavier territory. “Not My Time to Die” represents a clear turning point, leaning into tension, restraint and controlled aggression rather than constant impact.

Recorded at Manor Park Studio, Northern Ireland, the track captures the band at their most intense and emotionally direct to date.
Blending atmosphere with crushing dynamics, Arc Dakota have steadily evolved from alternative rock roots into darker, heavier territory. “Not My Time to Die” represents a clear turning point, leaning into tension, restraint and controlled aggression rather than constant impact.
Inspired by 'The Cask of Amontillado' by Poe, NMT2D drags you into the dark caverns of emotional torment to test your psychological limits. However, unlike the story, and following your refusal to break, you emerge defiant and alive, yelling IT'S NOT MY TIME TO DIE!
“‘Not My Time to Die’ is about being trapped in situations that feel impossible to escape, but still finding the strength to endure,” the band explain. “We wanted the song to feel like pressure building — not just musically, but emotionally — until it finally breaks.”
The single’s artwork was created by Belfast-based artist Clio, visually representing themes of tension, confinement and eventual release, mirroring the emotional core of the track.
